At
United Studios of Self Defense, we work hard to help your teen or pre-teen develop the life skills needed for success and
positive growth throughout high school, college and the "real world". Young people must have personal goals and
a caring support system to make their dreams reality. Our teen and pre-teen students have experienced improvements in academic
performance, self esteem, physical fitness, respect for others, and self control by training with our professional instructors.
We believe that each student deserves the one-on-one attention needed to help them strive to achieve their goals, handle stressful
situations, and maintain healthy habits. Our Martial Arts Education Program is tailored to the needs of
teens and pre-teens at different developmental levels. We have grouped our teen's classes into two different age groups
to ensure the best experience for each child and teaching methods that are tailored to the developmental level of each child. - Our Juniors class (ages 11 to 15) focuses on leadership, physical fitness, self discipline, and the path to mastery. Physically, the
Juniors develop overall strength and flexibility. For self defense Juniors work defensive techniques based on multiple attacker
situations, attackers with weapons, and grappling situations.
- Our Teens class (ages 16 and above) focuses on respect, life balance, physical fitness, and the path to mastery. Physically, Teens
develop overall strength and flexibility, with a focus on healthy habits and wise choices. Teens focus on full spectrum self
defense from multiple attackers and weapons defenses to situations they may encounter while away at college, while driving,
while living away from home, and more.
Our Martial Arts Education Program is detailed curriculum that focuses on improving your teen or pre-teen's basic life skills. These skills will help
them enter society with a more confident and enthusiastic outlook. They will become better students at school, better listeners
at home and more ambitious towards the future. We believe that now are the most important years in your child's development
in a fun, safe, and motivating environment. See below for more details on: - Martial

Martial
Arts Program Curriculum The Martial Arts Program curriculum consists of developing Major
Life Skills that are necessary for participation in any sport or activity. The curriculum also contains Personal Development
Skills that are used to reinforce family values. As your child continues the Program, they will become more focused and motivated
to achieve any goal they set in life. United Studios reinforces to its students the phrase, "We
are motivated, dedicated, and quest to be our best."
Major Life Skills Our Life Skills are composed of physical and mental benefits. The following are some of the Life Skills your child
will develop from participating in our Martial Arts Education Program: Confidence, Focus, Teamwork, Control, Balance, Memory,
Discipline, Fitness, and Coordination. CONFIDENCE As your teen develops through our Program, they will become more confident in themselves and their abilities. Our
Program challenges your teen to achieve new heights and make healthy choices. In doing so, your teen develops a new and greater
confidence in him or herself. Your teen will learn how to deal with different emotions such as fear, peer pressure, pain,
anger, and self-doubt. FOCUS This
Life Skill will help your teen improve his/her listening and reaction skills. They will become more attentive in the classroom
and at home. Your child will also become a better listener and a more focused student in school. TEAMWORK Teamwork is necessary for any teen to develop and become successful in life. The more your teen is willing to work with others
the more he or she will accomplish. Your teen will develop character, which will help them to make new friends and become
a better leader in life. CONTROL Having
good control means making good decisions. Whether your teen is managing a school project or handling a personal problem, they
will learn to make the right decisions. Control builds confidence. Controlling one's mind and emotion is the key to controlling
all situations in one's life. BALANCE This
Life Skill is crucial to develop for teens who may feel awkward at times during their physical development. Your teen will
develop good balance and better posture which help them project confidence and inspire positive self esteem.
DISCIPLINE Our
Instructors use different drills to help create the vision that discipline is fun and rewarding. Your teen will take pride
in doing the right thing and will earn rewards based on their ability to control their emotions and actions.
FITNESS It is very important for all teens to maintain healthy habits. The habits your teen develops today will stay with
them the rest of their lives. In addition to providing fun and dynamic physical activity, martial arts training will help
your teen develop a strong and flexible body. The Instructors at United Studios encourage teens to take an active role in
understanding the benefits of proper dietary habits and exercise.
Personal Development Skills Along with our Life Skills
Program, United Studios' commitment also extends to Personal Development Skills: Respect, Honesty, Commitment, Manners,
and Attitude. RESPECT In the Martial
Arts respect is very important. Students will learn the importance of respect of parents, family members, teachers, friends,
classmates, Instructors, and themselves. HONESTY Your
teen will learn that honesty is of major importance in dealing with their family and friends. They also learn to be honest
with themselves by setting realistic goals and taking the steps they know are required to fulfill their dreams.
COMMITMENT Your teen
will learn that commitment to a task is very important. They learn that you may not achieve success at first, but in the long
term, you will. Students will understand the concept of goal setting and follow through. Your teen will become familiar with
United Studios' Black Belt Success Cycle: Know what you want, Have a plan, Have a success coach, Take consistent action,
Review your progress, and Renew your goals. ATTITUDE
Your teen's attitude will determine
their ability to achieve in life. We strive to help all our students to develop a positive attitude in everything they do.
How the Program Works The style we teach is Shaolin Chuan Fa, also known as Shaolin Kempo. Our style is over 2,000 years old and comes from China. Students learn to use both their hands and feet to defend themselves.
Students can also learn to use Martial Arts weapons once they have reached an advanced level. There are two elements to
our program: Personal Lesson Your teen will receive one Personal Lesson with their Instructor
every week. In their Lesson, they will focus on learning material required for promotion to their next rank and/or receive
help in areas they may find difficult. In this way, your teen is constantly learning and processing new material.
Group Class Our studio offers up to three Group Classes every week. Your teen will meet and work with other students of similar
ability and rank. During the group class, your child will receive an excellent physical workout. They will also have the opportunity
to practice their new material with other students. Click here for our group class schedule. How Your Teen or Pre-Teen Will Advance

Here
are some important tips that will help your teen get the most out of our Martial Arts Education Program:
- Make sure you teen attends class regularly. Young adults adjust
to consistency. If taking a class becomes an option and not a priority, they will not adjust well. If a teen is going to miss
a class for any reason, call our studio so your teen's instructor can establish alternative arrangements.
- Monitor
your teen's progress. Your teen should, by regular attendance of classes and diligent practice, progress at a
steady pace. Please inform your teen's instructor if they begin to be challenged by any of their material.
- We see
our studio as a part of the team that is working to help your teen to become the best they can possibly be.
If your teen is having any difficulties in any area of their Martial Arts, school or home lives, please let us know. United
Studios is always committed to help in any way we can.
- Keep track of when the next Promotion is scheduled
to take place. This way, you can help prepare your teen for their next promotion. United Studios' Instructors are dedicated
to assisting students who require extra help sessions.
- Support your teen in their Martial Arts Training.
They will develop faster when they feel you are supporting them. Your teen wants to do well and your support will show them
that you are proud of their efforts.
